The mystery of the Stevenage Six Hills. Rare historical monument or handiwork of the Devil?

In my attempt to track down and investigate some of the most intriguing historical and archaeological mysteries left to us by the ancient Romans, I stumbled upon this intriguing tale.

At first glance the Six Hills in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, might appear as nothing more than mounds of earth created as part of a building site.

Their location, right near the 1950s new town of Stevenage - which it has to be said, doesn't exactly teem with history - would tend to back up this theory.

But a little digging - so to speak -  proves that these often overlooked humps have a fascinating tale to tell - and hide secrets from the Roman era which might never be fully uncovered.
